A duck hunt to remember

Sneaking up on ducks is nothing new. Hungry men, women and children have been doing this for centuries. Imagine a tribe of warriors walking up to an isolated lake covered with ducks several hundred years ago. Meals were often hard to find and they were likely excited while planning their best approach for taking as many ducks as possible.

Rams fall to top seed Riverside

MCLOUTH – Riding a four-game winning streak with an average margin of victory of more than 31 points, Pleasant Ridge (6-5) entered Thursday’s semifinal playing its best basketball of the season. But the Rams couldn’t continue that momentum against one of the top teams in Class 2A, falling 53-25 to Riverside (10-1) in the McLouth Invitational.

Lions win home meet

More local swimmers are going to state. Lansing’s 200-yard medley relay team of CJ Yedlinsky, Zach Mendez, Antonio DePaolis and Jakeb Kobs started Tuesday’s home meet by swimming a state qualifying time of 1 minute, 51.16 seconds.
