Gone fishing

Lansing Middle School students Jonas Lawler-White and Cale Denney are headed to the 2022 Bassmaster Junior National Championship. The duo and boat captain, Pam Hall, punched their ticket by winning the 2022 Kansas Bass Nation State Tournament at Keith Sebelius Reservoir in Norton County last month.

Basehor-Linwood softball coach Susan Mayberry got the ultimate fan experience. As the Blue KC Coaches with Character winner for the month of June, Mayberry threw out the honorary first pitch at the Kansas City Royals game on June 27.

The Boys of Summer

OAK GROVE, MISSOURI – The Leavenworth 18U Pioneers finished 1-2 in the Missouri/Kansas High School State Championship tournament, hosted by Sports America. Playing Saturday and Sunday at Webb Park, the Pioneers lone win was a 9-5 victory over the P2A Dirt Dandies.
