I had skin cancer. It started as a dark spot that slowly grew larger. The doctor did a biopsy and decided that more skin and flesh should be cut out to make sure. The operation was a success and I am now two years cancer free. However, I would be dead without this operation. Several of my friends have died from melanoma.

Spires 4×400 wins national championship

Competing at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Corey Lyons closed his University of Saint Mary running career with a bang. After finishing national runner-up in the 400-meter run in a school record time of 46.60 seconds and seventh in the 200 in 22.00, Lyons along with Mark Noel, Torrey White and Jaylen Townes won the 4x400 relay in 3:10.83, breaking the school record they set at nationals a year ago.

Farris signs with South Dakota

Wearing her Lansing volleyball state championship ring, Kamryn Farris made official where she will make her next mark, signing with the University of South Dakota. Farris said she had just returned from a visit to the University of Houston when she received a surprise text message from South Dakota coach Leanne Williamson.
