‘IT JUST FELT LIKE A MOVIE’

Returning to school after winning the Class 5A Overall Best Lifter, Basehor-Linwood senior Jordan Knipp said she got one question from her classmates. “They’re always like, where is your belt and why aren’t you wearing it?” Knipp, who competes in the 148-pound division, won the belt by bench pressing 145 pounds, squatting 275 and cleaning 170, finishing first at her weight in all three lifts at the 5A state powerlifting meet in Pittsburg.

Basehor-Linwood’s domination of the girls state powerlifting meet continued. Competing in the Class 5A meet Saturday, the Bobcats won their 15th straight state championship, recording 136 points to outscore second place and host Pittsburg (51).
