Retired Army Col. Michael C. Sevcik, left, was awarded the Sons of the American Revolution Henry Leavenworth Chapter Defender of Freedom award for community service. Sevcik served 32 years in the Army and is an inductee in the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. After retiring from the Army, he served 10 years with the School of Command Preparation at the Armys Command and General Staff College.
