Freddy T. Kenyon, Jr., 73, of Leavenworth passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, after a battle with cancer.
Freddy was born on April 17, 1949, in Leavenworth to Fred and Silva (Stevens) Kenyon. He married Janette Brown in 1971 and later divorced.
He is survived by his children Andrew Kenyon and Trisha (Danny Reintjes) Kenyon. Grandchildren Cody Pierce, Bailey Pierce, Druanthony Kenyon, and Lexus Kenyon. Great-grandchild Weston Pierce. Mother, Silva Kenyon and sisters Becky (Robert Williford) Scanlon, Cindy (Vernon) Ferguson and brother, Douglas Kenyon. Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, brothers Jerry and Mikel Kenyon, and son Russell (Rogers) Kenyon.
Freddy was honorably discharged from the US Army on September 12, 1969. He worked for the Kansas Department of Corrections and Veteran’s Cab company for over 45 years as a dispatcher and driver. He enjoyed collecting old coins and western magazines.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. A graveside service at 11 a.m. will be on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, with Rev. Gary “Sam” Sanford, officiating.
Memorials in his name can be made to the University of Kansas Clinical Cancer Research Center.
