The headstones of Perry Edward Smith and Richard Eugene Hickok are preserved at the Kansas History Museum in Topeka. The men are buried at Mount Muncie Cemetery in Lansing. The headstones were originally placed there but they were stolen in 1980. The KBI retrieved them in 2000, and they were turned over to the state museum for safe keeping.
