LEAVENWORTH – John Frederick Lee Crim, 89, Leavenworth, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at his residence.
John was born on February 26, 1932 to Freddie O. Crim and Leoda M. Herbaugh in Winchester Virginia.
He worked at Hallmark Cards as a maintenance specialist and owned his own handyman business called Busy Bee Handyman Service. He served in the US Navy, US Air Force Reserves and was a proud Navy Seabee. He was also a member of the American Legion.
He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and bird watching as well as spending time with his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his children, Jeff (Shauna) Crim and Susan Crim. Brother, Bennie (Lee) Crim and 4 grandchildren, Brandon and Kylie Crim and Kellen and Brett Brewer. The love of his life and best friend, Maureen Driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, son John F. Crim, and daughter, Judi A. Crim.
A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home with Pastor Cape Rust, officiating.
Burial with U.S. Navy Honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed in his name to the University of Kansas Cancer Research Center or D.A.V.
