Lawrence (Mug) Anthony Richter

Mug passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 30, 2022. Mug was born at home in Easton, Kansas November 4, 1938 to Georgia (Phillips) Richter and Francis Anthony Richter. Mug was one of seven children; Francis “Fritz” Richter (deceased); Jerry (Mary) Richter, Leavenworth; Vicky Salyers, Leavenworth; Carol (William) Cole, Leavenworth; Butch (Barbara) Richter, Easton; and Connie (Rick) Cook, Easton.

Mug met and then married Barbara Sparks Johnson on July 2, 1978. He is survived by two children; Diane (Paul) Amos, Tonganoxie; and David Richter, Tonganoxie; two step-daughters; Sandy (Mark) Robison, Leavenworth; and Jodi (Loyd) Yonts, Leavenworth. He has eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mug graduated Easton High School in 1956 after which he joined the Army. After serving his country he worked different odd jobs before he and his brother established Richter Brothers Construction in 1970. He did this until he retired.

Mug loved his family and friends. He enjoyed his weekly card games, which he still missed. He also enjoyed coon hunting, coyote hunting and fishing.

He will be sadly missed by his family and large circle of friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Easton United Methodist Church on February 19, 2022 at 11:00am
