Brandon Craig with the Leavenworth Parks and Recreation department strings holiday lights on trees Friday at Haymarket Square as the city prepares to kick off the holidays. The festivities begin with the parade at 5:30 p.m. Friday, starting at City Hall, Fifth and Shawnee streets, ending at Haymarket Square for the Mayors Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. A Holiday Mart will be held from 4-7 p.m. at Haymarket Square, 7th and Cherokee streets.
