Michael Eric Williamson was born on January 28, 1986, the son of Ernest and Jeanette Mary (Vallejos) Williamson who preceded him in death. Michael passed away at Kansas University Hospital on February 2, 2023, surrounded by his family and close friends.
Michael met the love of his life Melissa Scott in 2004. From that relationship came their three children Alexia (17), Aubriana (13) and Amiya (8) Williamson.
Michael is survived by three sisters, Wanda (Dwayne) Trent and Angela and Donna Williamson and brothers, Ernest Jr., Jimmy and Aaron Williamson, and his nephew D’Andre Baca who was like a brother to Michael. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and has left behind several close friends who were like family to him.
Michael attended Leavenworth High School and graduated in 2003. Michael started working at IHOP in Lansing in 2010 as a server and was promoted numerous times, finally serving as a district manager for the company. He believed in giving second chances and helping people whenever he could.
Michael was a fan of many things. Anyone who knew him knew he had a passion for fast cars. His Hellcat Charger was the second love of his life, after his family. He also enjoyed boating and was a self proclaimed master boat captain. He was an entrepreneur and was always looking for new business opportunities. He enjoyed traveling, technology, the stock market, sports betting, and a good double fireball neat. His laugh was contagious and he was bound to make sure everyone around him had a good time. He had the biggest heart and the best advice. Michael loved his daughters and wife more than anything. He believed in loyalty and family over everything else.
Michael’s Celebration of Life will take place Friday, February 10, 2023, from 6-9 p.m. at “The Local Hotel”, 600 Shawnee Street.
