Ret. U.S. Army Col. Michael Allen Turner

He wasborn Nov. 24, 1960, in LosAngeles, Calif., the son ofJohn Allen and AnnShirlene (Rush) Turner.On Dec. 26, 1987, Michaelmarried Heather LuRobinson in Pittsburg, Kan.She survives at the home.He is also survived by ason, Jonathan Turner andwife, Caitlyn Visocsky; twodaughters, Kayleigh Turner and fiancé, RickyHuffman, both of Kansas City, Kan., and ShelbyArmstrong and husband, Evann of Prairie Village,Kan.; a sister, Erin Holcomb of Branson, Mo.; andthree grandchildren, Dorryen Poke, Raymond Huffmanand Marceline Turner Visocsky.Michael was in the United States Army, servingmultiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also workedfor the Dept. of Distance Education for the U.S. ArmyCommand and General Staff College.He was a member of the VFW, American Legionand Combat Veteran’s Motorcycle Association.Michael loved spending time with his grandchildren.He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting andfishing. Michael was a baseball enthusiast, and heloved the L.A. Angels.Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday,Aug. 11, 2022, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Agraveside service with military honors will be at 1:30p.m. Thursday, at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
