Sandra (Sandy) Sue (Beaman) de Altonaga, 71, of Leavenworth, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, at Providence Medical Center. She was born June 7, 1950, in Leavenworth, the daughter of Allen Thomas and Alta Mae (Niesler) Beaman.

Sandy is survived by her husband, Carlos R. de Altonaga; two children, Patricia (Todd) Williams of Wichita, Kan., and Amy Allen of the home; four grandchildren, Crystal Smith of Killeen, Texas, James Barrett of Tampa, Fla., Thomas (Lillie) Allen III of Leavenworth, Erich Allen of the home; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gloria; and five brothers, James, Vernon, Donald, Ernest, and Roy Dale “Butch”.

Sandy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was passionate about animals and especially had a love for pitbulls.

A celebration of life will be set for a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in Sandy’s name to love-a-bull.org to educate and advocate for Pitbull Terriers.
