Steven Dean Auten, 66, of Leavenworth, KS passed away on March 14, 2022 at his home. He was born January 27, 1956 in Sullivan, Illinois to Loretta and Ronald Auten.

Steven graduated in 1974 from Sullivan High School. He served for a brief time in the United States military.

On December 5, 1985 he married Theresa. They were married for almost 29 years before she passed.

On May 16, 1988 Steven adopted Theresa’s two daughters April Robertson and Amy Auten.

Steven was a proud grandfather to Jordan, Jeramy, Kenneth, Ashlyn, Austin, Charles Jr., Shayla, Samanth, Ethan, Charlie, Makenzie, Steven, Timothy and Theresa.

Steven was a person that loved living life, hanging out, and making people laugh. He could take the silliest simplest thing and make it something great. He loved giving gifts for no reason. He loved spending time with his little family and many friends! You would be sure to hear him say “I know that’s right” or “I heard that”!

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Phil Phillips, his sister Cheryl Robinson, and wife Theresa. He is survived by his sister Julie, brother Randy, son Jeremy, daughters April and Amy, his son-in-law Darron Robertson, his grandbabies, his companion Carrie Campbell, and tons of friends. A memorial service will be held April 2, 2022 at Northwest Baptist Church located at 503 S. 18th St in Leavenworth at 4 P.M.
