The high school winter break is over and basketball games resume this week in Leavenworth County. Here are 10 boys basketball players to watch whose play has stood out so far this season: Trevor McBride, Sr., Basehor-Linwood – In his third season as the Bobcats’ starting point guard, McBride is averaging 10.2 points, 3.4 assists and 2.8 steals per game.
With more than 1,500 girls wrestling in Kansas high schools this winter, participation in the sport continues to grow. Hannah Jackson, a two-time state runner-up, is off to a hot start in her quest to become the first Leavenworth girl to ever win a state wrestling championship.
