The Leavenworth County Child Abuse Prevention Council hosted a training seminar Friday at the Riverfront Community Center in downtown Leavenworth. The continuing education training was titled "Opioid Use in Leavenworth County." Guest speakers included Leavenworth County Attorney Todd Thompson, Dr. William Warnes, Guidance Center director; Andy Burris and Vanessa Jackson; community members who have lost a child to opioids, and Leavenworth County Sheriff Andy Dedeke.
