EASTON – Virginia Seymour, 97, Easton, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022. Virginia was the daughter of Lucien J. Seymour and Ruth Hazel (Burwell) Seymour.

She was a lifetime resident of Leavenworth County. She attended Central, a one room school, attended Jarbalo High School, St. Mary University and Emporia University for her BS degree, then Kansas University for a MS in education.

Virginia first taught at a one room school, Valley #19, Jarbalo Elementary and Ft. Leavenworth Elementary, a total of 44 years.

She was active at High Prairie Church located on a corner of the family farm, the Tonganoxie Community Historical Society, Alpha Delta Kappa, and Little Stranger Church Foundation.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James and a sister Mary Ellen (Walter) Sloan. She is survived by a niece, Joelyn Kay Fevurly, and a nephew Steven James Sloan, two great nephews, Curtis, and Jeff, a great niece Yvette, and many friends and former students.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to High Prairie Church, 26480 187th St, Leavenworth, KS 66048.
