Mary Winifred Forge

Jackson was born April 5, 1940, to Gertrude (Lee) and Henry Forge. Winnie peacefully passed September 21, 2022. She received her education through St Joseph and Immaculata H.S. and completed a degree in Elementary Education at St. Mary College, Xavier, Kan., and completed several Masters Degrees. Winnie taught in Leavenworth Public Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1999 and continued to teach religion classes for children at St. Joseph’s Church for many years thereafter. Winnie moved into real estate in retirement; bought, repaired, and rented or sold older houses; helping many people get a home. Winnie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sons Jeff Jackson and Jason Jackson, an extended family, and many friends. She was well known for her cheerful smile. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope or St. Joseph/Immaculate Conception Parish of Leavenworth.

A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022, at St Joseph’s Church, Leavenworth.
